    Yeah I have old work truck....so I cut a 6" x 8" access panel above pump...
co-worker suggestion ........ makes pump management a breeze.....as long as you got RTV.....

No way to damage tubes/lines/electric this way......

The pressure is so high on toy fuel pumps, the lines have to be really secure....

Just fixed leaking fuel return hose off the fuel rail pressure regulator two days ago...
must of bumped it when replacing steering hoses.....

It sounds to me like you have a vapor lock somewhere, this would explain the hissing sound when you opened the gas cap and the thud from the tank itself. It must be really bad to actually make the tank thud like that IMO. I used to have this problem on my motorcycle when the vent tube would get kinked. I don't think this would cause it to leak though, I am however no expert. Also wonder if somehow replacing that kinked metal gas line with rubber hose made some kind difference and is possibly collapsing under pressure? Doesn't the fuel lines, rail, and injectors operate under really high pressures?

I've worked in a maximum security prison for going on ten years ... you'd think the wretchedness of humanity wouldn't really phase me anymore ... then I see stuff like this and it boils my blood. People suck.

Also an indication of just how bad things are really getting. Why pay 4 dollars a gallon for gas when you can just drill a hole in someone else's vehicle and steal their gas

With my luck some one ALSO stole my rear license plate. Happened in the last two weeks. Was stored outside of my compound I live in (I live in a prefab housing place). I waited literally 20 years to get the courage to get them custom worded. Only had them since March.

Frol what I can see the hose isn’t collapsing. I just wish I knew what hose went to what. But Inkeep reading that an EVAP sensor thingy could be the problem. I’m guessing maybe I put it in wrong. I did have some major problems trying to get the fuel hose inlet, the tube on the outside that you put the gas through. Kept getting in the way and had to keep forcing it at times to get it to stay in one spot, so I’m wondering if there’s something going on there. Too many dam hoses hehe

So, hoping to get around to finding what’s causing the pressure issue next week, but wanted to use it Sunday. If I drive with my gas cap off that should t cause any issues I believe correct?

Might get an evap leak code when it periodically tests the system.

It sounds like the vent valve is stuck closed.

I would take the bed off so you can really get a good look at what' going on in there with the gas tank and the hoses. It's not that difficult really, I just took the bed off my 97' Taco by myself a few days ago. It's literally 6 bolts and just a matter of disconnecting a few clips that hold the wiring harness to the bed in a few places around the bumper. Moving it off the frame was the hardest part but with a little patients and care it's possible.
