My .02, but start small and get used to the vehicle before large changes. For example, adding a bed mat is highly useful and affordable, whereas a quality, full suspension/lift will be in the thousands, and you may not like the results.

Here are some utility-based suggestions to get you started that are all reasonably affordable:

    - Bed mat (as stated) is one of the most useful items to have if you ever intend on putting things in the bed; keeps things from sliding around.

    - Glove box organizer: https://www.amazon.com/Vehicle-OCD-Toyota-Organizer-2016-2019/dp/B07BH49SHC

    - Center console organizer: https://www.amazon.com/Vehicle-OCD-Console-Organizer-2016-2019/dp/B016ZB4VZC

    - All weather mats (as stated) - take your pick of OEM, Weathertech, Husky, etc.

    - Window tint (should you want it) - matching the front driver/passenger windows to the rear factory privacy glass with standard tint should run under $90.

    - Swapping your long-life, low output low beam bulbs; here is a great research thread covering most, if not all, options: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ector-headlights.589465/page-67#post-21071090. One note here - please do not buy into the anecdotal/emotional appeals for drop-in LED bulbs; halogen projectors/reflectors are not designed for LED light sources.

    - Adding basic vehicle gear, such as a med kit, fire extinguisher, road flares, tire iron, tire plug kit, etc.
From there, the possibilities are nearly endless with our Tacomas. Have fun OP

PS - in my opinion, the best "mod" is having the note 100% in your name.

If you have a sunroof, 1/2" spacers under the rear mounts of the front seats. If you don't have a sunroof, 1" spacers. The Tacoma seats are noticeably low and the hood blocks your view of the road, especially if you have a Sport with the hood scoop. The spacers lift the seat to a more comfortable position. I found mine at the hardware store, along with longer bolts.

My '17 came with a phone holder, charges too. I'm guessing you're not talking about that one.

Quicksand with hood protector, color matching decals on tailgate latch, mudflaps, glovebox, and tailgate hitch cover.
Regarding the tonneau cover, like everything else, and as others have said, anything you want to put on your truck is your own preference, etc. And like others have also said, a bed mat is almost a necessity, after having mine and seeing how good of a job it does in keeping things from sliding around! But going back to tonneau covers, there are many different types. I happened to get a hard top tri-fold cover, with vinyl cover. I liked that because it provided a smooth appearance, rather than seeing folds or hinges where the folds are. I figured it also provided more aerodynamics, since it was smooth. But again, it is all according to one's own preference.

Here is a link to a video I made after I did everything I wanted to do to mine.
