That's pretty neat! I'm having some difficulties with these tint shops. Everyone is getting so strict on the tint now days! I went to Alamo Auto Supply here in El Paso yesterday and was told 30%was the darkest I could get! Can you believe that crap!?

It was the same way when i lived in Alamagordo, i tried getting it done in El paso and they were gay about the % i wanted. So i went to some local shop in alamo and they said they would do whatever i wanted, they said just bring it back to them when the cops tell me its to dark haha.

Yep. I think I'm gonna have to do the same thing. I had a little shop I was going to in Las Cruces but they fucked up my last truck. So, I don't really trust them anymore. Any suggestions for El Paso?

Victoria, you can go several places in El Paso that will tint them whatever you want. Alamo Auto Glass did mine on my Mazdaspeed6 several years ago and did awesome work. I did get 35% in the front and 20% in the back, though -- so completely legal. I'd suggest them if you wanted something in the legal range. I think TX is actually 35%, although I'm not too sure (its changed within the last few years).

My best friend went to Atlantic Audio & Tinting on Alameda yesterday. His brother had gone there a few days prior and got really good work done. They both got something like 25% in the front (I don't know the exact number for the front) and 5% in the back. The work on my best friend's doesn't look that great so far. There's a couple HUGE bubbles that I do NOT think will come out when it dries. Also, it took them over 4 hours when the estimate was 1.5 hours. I guess its hit or miss with this place.

Lemme know what you find out though. Tint is next on my agenda.

Well, not specifically for El Paso but you can offer to pay cash and tell them you'll pay some extra. Most shops will do it because they have less chance of getting caught if you are paying in cash so they don't have a record. And maybe 30% over the stock tint is 20% the legal limit, but I'm not sure...

you know as far as tinting goes i'm glad i live in NM, it's useless for a cop here to pull you over for having your windows too "dark" this state has no device that is "certified" in the state to tell you how much tint is on your windows, so if a dumb ass cop tells you it's too dark go to court and ask to see the certification on the machine they used. Not sure about TX though :(
