    No mods on the tacoma...yet! My 2x4 78 chev 3500 crewcab is a 454, edlebrock intake and 750 holley dbl carb.
    Hi there;

    Girls can own and drive trucks too here right? I hope so as I own 2 of them. (hence my user name.) I guess you could call it 3 if you count my parts truck too. So why am I not out driving a cute little Pastel colored Fiesta? They suck for landscaping! :)

    I grew up in a mechanical family and learned lots about older vehicles and still like to dabble. There was car talk at the kitchen table every night growing up and good luck changing the subject! So instead I started joining in. I always feel sad when the only tool my girlfriends own is a cell phone to call someone else. LOL :p

    First truck I owned was an 83 c10 2x4 chevy with a 305. Its still runs but its now just the parts truck. Then 3 years ago, I fell in love with my 2nd beauty. Its a 1978 2x4 Chev 3500 crew cab long box. 454, edlebrock intake and holley 750 double pumper to match, dual exhaust, possi rear, and accelerates like a rocket if you can afford the gas to do so. :)

    It's been 4 days since my new baby has come to stay with me. Its a very SWEET 1996 stock Tacoma 4x4 Xtra cab. Its has not a bit of rust on it, has been rust checked for years, passed the toyota frame recall twice, and the old owner took REALLY good care of it! Oh and its a 22RE. I had been told that they were gutless but that 4 cyl shocks the hell out of me! It pulls really nice!

    So my goal with this rig is to make it my own. A truck that will be my baby and will last me many years to come. Not my daily driver but used when I want and need it. I just love the shape and lines of the body and ride feel of this new truck. I guess that's the girly side of me, I buy trucks for their shape and feeling LOL. :rolleyes: Don't get me wrong, I am a grily-girl for sure but one that's not scared of getting greasy or dirty. :cool:

    I am thinking some sweet decals and a nice sound system to start with. I don't do the off roading thing but I do drive a few dirt roads here and there. It will turn into a chicks truck that's for sure, but I don't want that to be "irreversible" in case of resale. Even up here in Canada there are not many women like me ;) (or prove me wrong here ladies of Tacoma World!)

    Anyway, thanks for reading, MY first post will be to figure out how to put a set of 6x9 speakers in the back of my xtra cab as I only have the door speakers so far and its BRUTAL!
