Y'all play with tires all you want. It's an interesting science and hobby to get into. I played with it for a few years and settled on BFGATKOs more than 20 years ago and they just keep making them better with each turn.

    It's not a conspiracy - It's marketing fact.

Manufacturers want the highest MPG possible. The tires they get are a little lighter and softer than if you get them from a store.

And even store bought tires are "value engineered." For example - Firestone knows that if you go to a Firestone store you are paying a premium over Walmart TLE. You get a ore performance formulated tire over the Walmart tire. And the Walmart customer gets a more value based tire over the Firestone Store. Walmart may be a little harder compound, a little stiffer sidewall. Walmart customers are looking to save a buck.

Nothing wrong with meeting your customers where they are, I just wished they made these differences a little more obvious.

Update on these tires. I've had mine for approximately 45k miles now and have zero complaints for my usage (mostly highway with occasional off-road). I gained about 1 MPG back over my Coopers with the slightly less aggressive tread and the tire being lighter. I also noticed they're wearing significantly better, particularly on the outside although I think some of that on the Coopers had to do with dealership overinflation leading to uneven heating in the outer lugs. I also noticed my speedometer reads true again. I'm glad I decided to give these a fair shake after not being impressed with the original stock ones. I'll probably run them all winter and replace them before next winter. I estimate that'll be another 15-20k miles.

Yeah, I really like mine too. I like the soft on-road and off-road ride and love the way they look on my 22 Pro. However, I have cut the tires twice, including this past weekend's off-roading trip in no-man’s land -luckily I was able to plug it with out taking the wheel off the truck.

I noticed mine have some ripped lugs on them. I'm not that aggressive or extreme. Can't wait to replace.

Same. I have 42k on mine and they still look to have over 75% tread left on them. I'm thinking they might dry out before the tread is gone. Would but them again in a heartbeat.
