The old grill wouldn't be as terrible if they'd offer it in all black.

LOL tough crowd. They are sitting around a conference table at Toyota "vertical black grill instead of horizontal chrome, they are going to LOVE it"

You're right, it's sad, someone approved this grill!

I actually love the shiny cheese grater as well. It also has to do with the color of the truck itself. I think if your truck is black, white, orange (forgot name) or cement, get a pro grille. Blue, Gray and Red look nice with chrome grilles.

But of course these are just my personal preferences. YMMV

Not that my opinion is better than anybody else's, but I can't stand the font choice for this grille. I really think they would sell more if they could match it a bit closer.

    This guy - Kevin Hunter.

He moved from his Cheese Grater period of grill design in 2016 and 2017, to a more dynamic combination of materials, methods, concepts, and subjects that challenge traditional boundaries and defy easy definition in 2018 with his evolution to his Potato Masher period.

Wait for 2020 when it's rumored Kevin will be debuting his Colander phase.

Toyota announced for 2019 there will be a “build your own grille” app on the website.

Here’s a sneak peak at the options:

Agreed and when you trim down the bumper to about the width of the grill and cut everything not needed behind it out they look real mean!

We’ve gone so far down the rabbit hole with these trucks that you might forget just how “no nonsense” old Toyota styling was. Not my truck, but I sometimes I wish it was (‘cept for the heated seats, power windows, mirror defrosters, etune.....yadayadayada)
