When you do the install, does it have a separate trim ring to remove first? Just bought a 2020 OR grille but I don't have it yet.

The Pro grille is literally one of the most overrated and overused items I’ve ever laid my eyes on. I liked them years ago, but after seeing nearly every swingin dick attach these things to their truck, I’ve grown to hate them.

Most tacos that I see in my area have the stock grills, the only tacos I've seen around here with a pro grill are the TRD sports.

Just worry about what's on your own truck, you'll be happier.

I replaced the original grill on my 2019 SR5 with a 2020 SR grill. I color matched the center, added Raptor style grill lights, and a front camera. I got the grill as a take off for $125. (Or maybe it was $100 - I forget)

I'm happy with how it looks.

The 2020 OR grille is a single piece unlike previous years and 2020 sr/sr5. Really easy install, just go slow and you'll get the old one without breaking anything.

I wanted to get rid of the chrome on my original grill and went with the pro. So it was more a color thing than a need for the pro grill for me. To each their own however, it’s your truck do what you want.

I wish I could find an aftermarket grill for TSS that I thought looked good. The plexiglass window for the radar on otherwise nice looking grills doesn’t do it for me. I’m tired of the pro grill but it does look good.

Might try to snag one if the price is right to refresh the look after a couple of months ha ha. Definitely transforms the look

Last week I installed the Pro Grill, but ever since I've had a couple of reservations: 1) it's what a lot of people on this site do, and 2) the numerous TSS sensor errors that people experience.

First, I love the look of the Pro Grill. Where I live I have seen just a couple of Tacomas with the grill, so it's not played out (here at least). Second, I have luckily not experienced a single TSS sensor error. After reading the thread on the @ToyotaProShop sensor errors and how the "OEM" garnish really isn't OEM, I feel really, really lucky. I should have done more research before choosing Toyota Pro Shop.

I thought for awhile about getting the 2020 OR/Sport grill, but I didn't know how to find it. But in the end, I'm happy with my purchase. This is America, so do what you want. Whatever you think looks good on your truck looks good. That's all anyone should care about.

What you are missing is that people are not getting the Pro grille because they want their truck to make people think they are driving a Pro. The Pro grille makes zero reference to the Pro. I got the Pro grille for 2 reasons. 1. The stock OR grille simply looks stupid. 2. The Pro grille has a retro Toyota look that brings you back to days when the Land Cruiser was a vehicle that you would actually take off road. I wish Toyota would have made the Pro grille an option rather than a standard feature on one model.

I think the pro grill looks sweet, but in my area too many people do it too. So that caused me to not like it quite as much. now, I don’t care what other people do, but my goal is to always be unique. I just like my stuff to look a way I like. I have a 17 Inferno off-road and in my area there aren’t nearly as many of those floating around. Everyone is buying cement now seems like.
I’m one of the weirdos who doesn’t hate the stock OR grill from 16-17. I just want to ditch the chrome. So I’m wrestling with getting SR bezel and painting the rest, of painting the whole thing, or dipping the whole thing.
The one thing I love that people do on the pro grill is the heritage stripe. Like they’ll get the decal that covers 3 dots in the grill. So if I can black out my stock OR grill I want to somehow highlight 3 of the mesh holes to give that heritage stripe illusion or something.
