To me the logic behind the hate on the pro grill is silly. Don't want it because too many Tacoma owners have it. So the fix for this is to rock the tri-oval branding that is practically on 1/4 of all the cars on the road from a Prius, to a Corolla to mini vans. No thanks, I'll go with the Tacomas and the heritage look. Just my opinion.

im with you on that. Just because so many people have it doesn’t make me hate it. It just makes me want it less since so many people have it here. I do agree with you on the heritage thing. It totally gives a more classic, vintage look.
I’ve really toyed with it as well esp since I have inferno. Maybe do the “Toyota” letters in inferno then do the red, yellow orange heritage stripe decal on the grill dots.
But like I said earlier, I’m still one of those weirdos that doesn’t hate my stock grill cuz it kind of looks classic too. It has the 2 horizontal bars that go across the Toyota emblem, which if highlighted correctly could look pretty sweet I think. So I’m always torn.
I like simple clean mods that make mine easy to find in a parking lot. lol

Thought about going with a Pro grill after getting my 2020. But here in SoCal the Pro grill is on just about every Taco I see now. Honestly the best thing about the 2020 grill is no chrome!

I disagree completely. I think the stock Sport/OR grilles look great. Especially the 2020 ones. I will admit I wasn’t a huge fan of the first ones in 2016 that were full-on chrome, but had I had that grille, I probably would have kept it. I feel like putting a Pro grille on a non-Pro truck is like sticking a Cobra emblem on a Mustang GT.

That is great that you like the other, but your Mustang analogy is completely off base. People are not putting the Pro grille on because they want to make people think they bought a Pro. I would have put the grille on my truck even if it was the grille from the base model SR. No where on the Pro grille is there any reference to it being a Pro. Had it, I along with many probably wouldn't have made the swap. It is simply the word "Toyota" in a retro sort of way. Much like if you were to put the word Ford on the hood of your mustang as it was in 1965 (interestingly Ford seems to have disappeared from Mustangs). You would have a point had a Pro existed in the early days of Toyota, but simply them marketing a new trim level now and throwing a retro homage does not give that bit of history exclusivity to those that buy that package.

Lol. No, that would be like putting the PRO emblem on a non pro truck, you know, because those exist.

Haha, I just like to switch grilles from time to time to refresh the look.

No judgement here. It’s a Tacoma so it gets a thumbs up in my book whether it’s pro grill or 2016-2017 trd chrome. So much hate in the world already. No need to add more.
