I reloaded for .44 mag as a kid back in 1985 and took it up again a few years ago. I load for my .44mag, .357/38, .223, .300BLK(make the brass from 5.56), .380(with .223 rifle sizing die), 9mm. It's fun and addictive.

Glock will retain its value for many years. There will be no residual value of the other stuff in 5 years

Having a part time business that coordinates with one of your true passions means that you get things that you would have bought anyway cheaper or in some cases, free.

The latest home defense gun. Kriss Vector in 10mm. It's a beast.

Very cool. Badass ballistics with the 10mm out of that length barrel.

ETA: That's probably the 5.5bbl. I was thinking it had a 10+" bbl.

It about 5.5" but there isn't much point in going longer. Diminishing returns after that. 1400fps with a 165gr bullet and no stress to the brass is enough for me in a maneuverable package.

    Ye
Yep, but you have to take it with a grain of salt. According to the chart a 165gr bullet out of a 5" barrel is only going for 1260 fps. I can get them going past 1400 which is max for the chart.

Bottom line is that it's a house gun and maneuverability was important and 1400 fps is more than enough. If I have to chase someone outside I have harder hitting options.

P.S. I know we jacked the thread and I feel bad about that, but this conversation is a welcome break from all the other tire, wheel, and bitching about my truck threads.

True that. My SIG P226 two tone is still in mint condition after 10 years and probably still worth what I paid. At least I think so. But I'll never sell it.

Uh...most firearms keep their value. Not sure what you are getting at. My point was that a tonneau cover or whatever will be worthless after 5 years of wear and tear.

Jeebus, if I needed that for home defense I'd move into a better neighborhood/city/state...:crapstorm:

Gun... But 26, not 43. Seriously, put them side by side. There is a lot of compromise in a 43 for not a lot of width reduction.

I would love a CZ 75. It's pure gold in my hands. I got to shoot one of these a month ago and fell in love with it. Too bad I can't use it for work.

Nah.. It's Missouri. Gun culture. I didn't need it, I just always liked the idea of a 10mm carbine.

We have plenty of tweakers but they're on the other side of town.

I'm in UT, folks like guns here as well, but more about loud noises and making things go boom. I have no illusions of home security. I make it a policy to live where I don't have to worry about sleeping with a finger on the trigger.

My newest toy: IWI Galil ACE. Need some sights and other trinkets. But man can it plunk some cans in the west desert...
