Hi all - joined recently to participate in one of the group buys and have been reading and learning ever since. I have a 2004 TRD which is about to be handed down to my son at the University of Alabama so I'm looking for a new one.
What would be the best forum to post in for advice on newer trucks I am looking at (model years, features, etc.)

Thanks for the warm welcome - I'm an old retired fart and not looking for anything too rugged - my off-roading is basically on dirt roads in the North Ga. mountains. Leaning toward passing down my 2004 and getting a new truck. Started looking at new ones and after pricing out what I want at around $40,000 figured I should look around at some used ones. Below is the one I am currently considering - wondering if anyone has any suggestions/advice on things I should be concerned about. At $30,000 it has most of what I want so is it worth saving $10,000?

I am the 2nd owner, purchased with 21k on it. I am not a "Kid" I am a 41 year old responsible man that takes great pride in my vehicles. Never been wrecked and is in near perfect condition. Great Carfax. Drives great, averages 17mpg's. Never off-road except dirt roads. Maintenance has always been kept up with synthetic oil. Used 4wd a couple of times. I love this truck but need to reduce payments. I have a loan on the truck. Feel free to call and make offer. I do not need any help selling my truck. WILL NOT TRADE, WILL NOT TRADE, WILL NOT TRADE. I have sold many vehicles in the past and am aware of the many scams so if you ask a crazy scam type question or ask if I will trade for something don't be offended if I don't respond. I don't mean any disrespect by it.Thanks for your time.

Sorry, that 2004 will stay in the family - 175,000 miles with nary a concern - unless you count that stupid driver's seat left side plastic trim... I've almost decided to keep it and get my son something else - especially after reading about the differential and transmission problems with the newer models.
