Hey guys! Just bought this 2017 Tacoma from the dealership. Bought it on Tuesday, it was dealer demo driven by the service manager. Had the pro grille, tonneau cover and the side steps already installed... got them to put on ko2s as well and still got it for about 6 grand under the purchase price of a new one with only 10K on the clock.

I'm pretty excited. I came from a Tundra, and before that a 2nd gen Tacoma TRD Sport, but this is the first Offroad I've had. Can't wait to take it to see some dirt!

Welcome! That’s a nice looking truck. And, judging by my recent visit to your area (Banff, Yoho, and Jasper), you’ll have plenty of opportunity to put the Tacoma to good use. Enjoy!

Live in Mission, trucks super capable man, mines still stock and I crossed the Fraser as high as the tires a couple times(in Chilliwack on the sand bars).

If the shine wears off the truck on all those trips up the north shore on the way to Squamish, gimme a shout, I can hook you up with OVtune for like half the cost.

I might take you up on that, I've heard it addresses some of the weird shifting and stuff? I've noticed in Drive with the ECT off the trans really doesn't want to give up any power.

Yeah it really helped with the day to day driving with all our hills. And highway driving as well. The main noticeable factor is that the tune allows more load on the overdrive gears, so you're not jumping around as much on the small hills. But generally there's about 20 to 30 pounds more torque depending on the tune at less than 2000 RPM. One guy dynod after the tune and removing the two upper cats and getting an equal lengthy-pipe, got like 40lbs more torque to the whole RPM range

Does it change more than just the shift points then? Like fuel mapping etc? And do I need to make sure I've got the TSB done on the trans first?
