Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum. I'm actually stationed overseas in Japan right now but moving back stateside in one week. I finally decided to purchase new vs used and looks like it's gonna be a '16 Taco. I still feel the need to at least test drive and check out the Nissan Frontier just to give it a fair shake though. I haven't been able to go physically test drive or look at any vehicles because of my current location, but I've been doing a lot of research and this forum has been very helpful so far. So far here's kinda what I'm looking for:
2016 DCSB 4x4 TRD Off road and I kinda like the quicksand, but then again I haven't had the opportunity to see any of the new colors in person. I already know a tonneau cover will be in my future (leaning towards the Fold aCover). Anyways, feel free to give me any suggestions you have to help ease my shopping experience. I will be depending on family to drive me around to the dealerships until I can decide on something. Thanks!

    Anthony

So I'm back in the USA! (Spent my first 4th of July in the USA in 5 years) I finally made my decision and got my Taco! 2016 TRD Off Road 4x4 Double Cab Short bed in Quicksand, Tech package with sunroof, factory folding tonneau cover, paint protection on doors and toyoguard plus. I've already placed an order on Amazon for some extras. Go Rhino D2 sidesteps, OEM mud flaps and door sill protectors, AVS window visors, sunroof visor and hood bug deflector, interior LED light package, and center console divider. I'm loving it so far!

Welcome my friend and thank you for your service! Congrats on being back home, where is that? Looks nice! Congrats on new truck, just got mine yesterday, so I know feeling. I'm looking at some extras myself, I'll probably wait until he's paid off. My wife and I hate car payments, so we will be paying this Taco off this year. Have fun!

Awesome! If you have transmission delay from park to drive/reverse, make sure you have the dealer check your fluid level. Mine was slow to engage and turns out the fluid was low. Toyota puts the same fluid volume in the trans, regardless of external trans cooler or not (tow package or no).

Question about seat covers....I've read some of the other threads and like both the wet okole and clazzio seat covers. But my taco came with heated seats....so will I still be able to feel the heat through these seat covers?

Regarding the seat heaters and a seat cover - my seats get hot - warmer than most other seat heaters I've experienced in several other brands. I don't believe you'll have an issue with heat transmittance through a seat cover.
