    Hi TacomaWorld!

I just bought my Tacoma this past Friday after looking at them for months and trying to convince myself I could afford it. Got a Black 2009 TRD Off Road, Access Cab, V6, Automatic, blah blah. I'm absolutely in love with it.

I came across this site/forums because I was looking into light bars, thats the only immediate "mod" I want to do, add a couple Hellas out front. My job and hobbies often drag me out into the wilderness at night (a perk in my opinion). In my search for light bars I came across the thread here about the "Arctic Bull Bar" and now I want one desperately. The other simple light bars I'd seen were nice but that one is exactly what I had in mind.

Anyway, I'll hopefully toss up a pic of my new Tacoma in this thread tomorrow. I look forward to reading up here. Probably won't be a huge post contributor as my main hobby (and thus forum time) is firearms. But I do enjoy offroading as well, and I'm sure I'll have questions about my truck.

Nothing special compared to other trucks here, just a nice clean looking truck. :) I'm stoked. Found the thread where those "Arctic" bull bars are being made my Avid Off Road and shot them an e-mail. Now to search out the best buy on a few Hellas and find a shop to help me with the wiring. And I think I'll be all set for the time being.

Also need to go by the Toyota parts center and pick up the Ipod interface, I didn't want to spend the $200, but if it charges my Ipod and gives me control via the head unit & steering wheel I guess it's worth it rather than be unsafe and fool with the Ipod while I drive.

Sweet! And thank you all for the warm welcome!

I've spent most of the day (Sunday is my one day off lately) scanning between the internet and the forums here looking at all the things I can do with my truck. I have a very strong urge to get a Hi-lift jack and mount it from the bed rail and get a few gas cans and a few water cans for desert trips. I'm stuck on a good way to keep them in place in the bed without going so far as to having someone fab me a little rack. I'm a bit OCD so I can't just tie them in and let them bounce around.

Of course, I'm going to be paying for the truck for a little while to come, I shouldn't be spending money on offroad/camping stuff that I probably won't have time to use until late fall/spring. :p

That sounds fun. I'm not sure if I'm going to be in town that weekend, I'll have to nail down my work schedule. Thanks for the heads up!

I had come across the Defiant light bar on the internet and it looks pretty slick, I was about to order one when I came across the Avid Off Road one here; and it kinda stole my attention. :)
