What's up everyone? I'm Arthur. Just bought a used 2015 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport Long Bed with about 6,000 miles on it. I love the truck so far and now I'm looking to lift it. I'm looking to lift it at least 3 inches, get some wheels and tires, and that's about it.

Anybody that wants to give me any good advice on what brands to buy for my lift will be gladly accepted. I'm not looking to do a lot of off roading. Mainly it'll be for show. Maybe I will take it to the mud or snow every so often. I am on a budget so if anybody can tell me a good brand that won't break the bank but also is excellent quality. Thanks!

I have 5100s with OME 887 coils for just about 3" of lift. It's this kit...

I got the 887 coils, no diff drop and no UCAs and I'm very happy with it. If you can afford the UCAs, get them, otherwise it's not the end of the world, but your truck won't have a perfect alignment unless you get them.

    Welcome to TW!

How long have you had this set up? I use my truck for going to work about 35 miles round trip. Do you think it will go at least 100,000 before anything fails?

I'm no suspension expert but I'll tell you what I've read from my research before I bought my lift. Apparently it is somewhat common for the CV boots to wear out prematurely, I'm not sure if that is from people wheeling really hard or just daily driving. Anyways, it's my understanding that this is a problem with any lift for a second gen Tacoma because raising the truck makes the CV angle harsher and the diff drop essentially does nothing to alleviate it. So if you plan on lifting your truck over 2 inches, chances are you will run that risk regardless of the kit you buy. There is a DIY mod on here that some people do to prevent this from happening, searching google with some key words should bring that thread up. Maybe somebody else will chime in with a bit more info.

That being said, I have posted pics on here and asked a buddy of mine who is a mechanic about my CV angles, and apparently they don't look too bad. I'm not worried about it. My truck looks soooo much better after the lift, it will be worth it.

I chose Total Chaos upper control arms, and threw some King OEM Shocks in there. 3in lift.
