Texas understands the underdog. The Alamo was more than just a John Wayne movie. You are not the underdog. I'm not sure how to classify you. What's the story when the big guy is minding his own business, but the cocky little enemy starts making weak threats? :poking:

Its called "hitting you back, first", or more specifically, "pre-emptive retaliation"

Building on that underdog analogy, I've long thought that the canis domesticus species should be split. There are the real dogs, then there are the "little yapping things". You know, those dogs under 15 lbs who don't bark, but yap, and they yap at everything, but nobody takes them seriously.

    You're the under-little-yapping-thing.

This reminds me of a joke.

wimpy guy (walking into a bar): "whose rottweiller is tied up outside?"
    burly dude: "he's mine"
wimpy guy: "sorry, I'm afraid my dog just killed him"
burly dude (astonished): "what kind of dog do you have?"
    wimpy guy: "a chihuahua"
burly dude (even more astonished): "how in the world did that little yapping thing manage to kill Brutus?"
wimpy guy: "he got lodged in his throat"

I wouldn't be afraid of the 2.7L , but you must go 5 speed. Tacomas that are 4x4 only come in 4.10 gears, all the torque you could ask for. The V-6 is really nice and is offered in both tranny's. I often load 1000 lbs or better of sand or gravel for my building projects and am off-road when I have to get said materials and am very happy I have the six speed, some situations dictate coming out of the HOLE a little hot. Dependability is built in, not an issue. Tires, they are expensive as hell if they're good, worth every dollar. Get the towing package, never hook to the raw frame, puts too much stress on one side, kind of tweaks the truck in the wrong way, borders on abuse. Other than that, drive on friend, drive on !

    Hey Viper-2,
Game on, and what makes this so cool is that I lived South Carolina for 10 years and miss it dearly. I moved to Rochester N.Y. to take care of some family issues. I have now been up here for ten years and work might transfer me back to N.C or S.C, oh snap!!
