Hey y'all, new here. I just got an 06 tacoma trd off road 4x4 rear locking diff, SR5 with a 4.0 V6. Pretty much stock everything except for the UWS nerf bars I just put on it and the Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT headunit with GPS/DVD. Im looking at putting a cold air intake next, wondering whats the difference in that and putting a K&N drop in airfilter. I cant find any specs on hp or mpg for the drop in. Also looking at putting a 3" lift, leveling kit/diff drop in the front and add-a-leaf in the back. Keeping stock wheels and tires for now because bought it and its got next to new tires. Any thoughts?

    Welcome to TW!!

Doing just a drop in over a CAI seems to get a lot of positive reviews.

If you ask me.. drop a supercharger on it.... but that's just me. :D

Go with a toytec lift stay away from spacers and leveling kits. Bilstein make an adjustable height setting shock which is your best bet if you wanna go cheap. As for the AAL go with toytec as well. I've got the KandN filter and love it. You just have to do a lot of reading on this site to really find out what you want.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I've build roundy round and sprint cars most of my life and was a mechanic for an oil field company before I went to college and the army, so I know my way around cars. The CAI picks up about 10.3 hp at roughly 4900 rpms. Where can I find this kind of specs for the drop in. And my truck has bilstien shocks now, I assumed they were stock. I haven't taken them off or anything, but are those the adjustable ones you mentioned?
