Heated seats and side mirrors. Toytec Ultimate Lift, Total Chaos UCA, headers, Air bags in rear for towing. TRD Super Charger. Electronic Sliding Rear Window.
I'm currently looking at 2 Tacomas.

    1996 140k V6 4x4
    2001 196k TRD

I'm wondering how many miles I can expect to get out of these. I hear how bulletproof these Toyota engines are. I've never owned a truck, so I'm not quite sure what to look for when deciding on one. Any information would be helpful.

Welcome to TW! I had a 2001 V6 2x4, and it had 265xxx. It was still going strong and had no major issues, besides replacing the starter. Good luck with your purchase!

It's really cool for Tacoma's to have the bullet proof reputation, but if it wasn't maintained properly you can throw that saying out the window.

Look for the ones with service reports, maintenance records, etc.

Well, the 96 got sold real quick. It was maybe in the lot for 2 days. I didn't really like the color scheme of it anyways, maroon with the graphics on the side.

There are a couple TRDs now that I'm considering. I defiantly want a V6. I've been driving 4 cyl all my life except for our maxima, but that 's the wife's.

Thanks for the feedback and the warm welcome.

I've got a 04 with 186k miles. It's still running, but not very strong...
