New Guy

Hello everyone,

I am a new guy on the block so I will introduce my self. I live in Texas, the DFW (Dallas/Ft.Worth) area, bought my Toyota Tacoma new in 08. It is a , 4 door TRD, 4X4 w/ the towing package. This is my first Toyota as well as my first 4X4.
W/ that said a brief history on how I bought my first Toyota. I usually drive GM but have owned Fords, Nissans, etc. Was in the market for a midsize pickup & w/ a son active in the Boy Scouts as well he & I hunt we do haul gear, ATVs etc' so I needed a truck that would haul more than just groceries & look good as well as wanted my first 4 wheel drive. Test drove more than I care to admit but was impressed w/ the power of the Toyota's 4.0L so that is how I come to own one.
For the most happy w/ it the past 2.5 years but it was weak w/ the rear suspension & just recently the dealership replaced the transmission. One good thing is they did replace the rear leafs as well in response to a bulletin & now it can handle the tongue weight of a trailer. The truck has 35K on it now so warranty covered this round thank goodness. Headed to the hunting lease this weekend & pulling one of our trailers so will see how the new tyranny & suspension work out.
Looking forward to finding out about what other mod's can be done to improve performance, mpg, etc as well as hopefully have something to bring to the table as well. Sorry if too long winded!!!
