I have been a lurker on this site for a while. Finally decided to jump in.

Bought my 2006 Tacoma a year ago, my avatar. Its a double cab TRD off road...i assume. The decals say rock warrior. So my Tacoma was considered totaled when i bought it, was in a auction, was totaled because the brackets that hold back bumper where bent when rear ended, insurance totaled it. Fix cost me $300 and probably saved me $5k on purchase price.

Found out after i bought it that previous owner pulled after market mods and put origials back in, if you called it installed. So i had to install a whole new stereo system for one. All the clips that held door panels on were missing. Missing gas cap. No interior lights work, dome or reading lights. Found odd wiring when doing stereo. Scared of what else i may find.

Current mods i am considering are: the interior lights, new headlight and tail lights to LEDs, nerf bars, and lift kit.

So pushing it back out of sight is not a good option?

It's tough when you have someone else is Frankenstein.

If it were mine, I would try to straighten out the factory wiring first and if that didn't work I would run a new wire or wiring.

My best guess what that they had run extra wires for bluetooth speaker ect. I was able to figure outvthat the speaker wire was fine.....just speakers were held in with a single screw. Miat of the wires behind stereo looked like a mess. But got new stereo hooked up.

Interior lights do not work and parking lights do not turn on. The parkingblights flash when i hit lock button. Ordered new LED interior lights to see what is wrong there.
