i am not inclined to answer that question. especially now that i have to think of what has transpired in the past. WTF bro. that is a really inapropriate question.

from everything i've read...and from a former XD owner...and a current Glock owner

MOST people are either going to like the shape of the frame on the Glock or the XD...past that...i think youre gonna be getting a good pistol either way...both are fine firearms that are very durable and accurate and easy to break down and clean

i put 100-200 rounds a month thru my glock...i have for the past 3 years or so of ownership

the only FTE or jams ive had were created by me so that i could train on what to do should that ever happen in real life

i honestly dont think that 1 is better than the other...but rather...1 will fit someones hand better than the other

i...like many others...like the grip of the Glock...i shoot pretty good with it...considering my last qualification (moving/threat recognition) i shot 18/19 with the only missed because i ran out of rounds because i double tapped the first threat

ive also shot a 246/250 on another moving course of fire with the 4 missing points being lost because i shot outside the center mass "coke bottle" and hit the target in the arm or shoulder or something of the sort

the trigger reset is not relative...the Glock trigger reset is designed a specific way to allow for a lighter trigger pull on the second and subsequent shots...i dont think the XD has this...its full weight every pull IIRC

the steep grip angle of a Glock is also designed for a reason...the way its designed is to lock your wrists a certain way and it allows you to bring back a sight picture after each shot much quicker than most other pistols...

i have not ever shot anyone...i hope that that day never comes...

as far as caliber goes...i firmly believe that caliber absolutely does NOT matter...buy the caliber you want...shot placement is KEY

whatever you buy...be able to shoot it under stress and low light conditions...be able to put the rounds you shoot into whatever youre aiming at...period

    doesnt matter if its a .22lr or a .45acp

What is the "patented lock out device" for the P2000? I have search everwhere but cant find an explanation of what it is /how it works??

I heard something about how cops like the HK because of it..."if you drop a glock anyone can pick it up and fire it...but nto with the HK"

guessing here, but probably referring to the fact that glocks only have a trigger safety.

"Something new in the whole line of USP pistols -- including the Expert -- is a patented "Lock-Out Safety Device." If you didn't know about it you'd never find it. With the magazine removed you can see a small circular part in the back of the magazine well. In the little bag that contains a spare O-ring and Allen wrench for the trigger stop is also a spanner-type key that fits the safety inside the mag well. Rotating the key 90 degrees completely disables the pistol. It is elegantly simple. Turning the safety prevents the hammer strut from compressing the mainspring and allowing the pistol to cock. The hammer can't go back very far so it prevents the slide from moving as well.
The gun is completely disabled. You have to make an effort to engage the Lock-Out Safety, but it is certainly a clever alternative to trigger locks and other "safe storage" devices."

ok so that could be it but it didn't explain that if you dropped it someone coudln't pick it up and use it? If it is engaged you would have to use a tool...So there forthe badguy cant pick it up but yoiu arnt firing it either?

sounds stupid and liek i will never use it?

i think its so you can throw your gun at them, and when they pick it up to fire it, you have time to tackle them while they are trying to figure out where the safety is

Love my HK USP, for what its worth, they'll have my dollar forever. Definitely handle all the weapons and shoot if possible. Also I know cost is always a factor but I look at guns as though I am only going to buy it once (reality is different as we usually own multiple guns and sometimes buy sell/trade). Point being if you were only going to buy something once a. get what you really want and b. get the highest quality possible.

A good gun can be an investment if taken care of properly...they dont diminish in vlaue very much, and can save your life....

My grandfather has probably tens of thousands of dollars worth of old guns he has had around since the 40's and later...
