I’ve had the older ones for quite a while now so I figured i would try out the new ones. That being said I thought I would just do a little comparison and try to keep it as fair as possible. So what I did was go to my local NAPA and purchases all brand new NAPA bulbs for both headlights to keep things as even as possible. Older ones take 55watt h7 bulbs for high and low beams and the new ones take 55watt h11 for the low and 65watt h9 for the high beams. Now that being said I’ve seen on here where some people take their stock headlights and make or buy a harness to put the brighter 65watt h9 bulbs as both the high and low beam instead of the 55watt h11s for their low beams. So I went ahead and added this small mod to the comparison just to see if it was infact beneficial. Also to keep it as fair as possible I parked my truck facing my house when I actually removed the older headlights (which were adjusted properly) and when I installed the new ones I adjusted them to the exact orientation the older ones were at. On all of the comparison pictures the top photo is the older model headlights with the h7 bulbs, the middle is the newer with the suggested h11 and h9 bulbs, and the bottom is the newer headlights with the upgraded h9 bulbs as low and high. The last picture is light output from just the parking/drl lights, both photos were taken from the same distance and again the top is the older design and bottom is newer. As you can see there is a noticeable difference, it’s not huge but it is noticeable. The Low beam cut off is pretty much the same on both the older and newer lights but the newer ones are a little brighter and have more spill especially with the h9 low beam bulb upgrade. The high beams again are pretty close but the newer ones are noticeably brighter. As for the led parking/drl lights the older ones are a little brighter as you can see. So in my opinion the headlights on the newer ones are a little brighter even more so with h9 bulbs in the high and low spots (which can be done on these without any modifications to the plugs) but the parking/drl lights are a little dimmer. As far as which one looks better in general we will leave that up to the polls. If anyone has any other questions Or wants any more photos please feel free to ask. Also if your interested in the new style headlights, tacomabeast does have a coupon code to get them $100 off just use the code “exclusive”.

    Awesome pics in the woods!
No vote on headlights, I see very little difference, and very little need to change from OEM. Sorry, I know that's not popular around here, but the pics in the wild do need recognition.

To each their own. I’ve never had a problem with tacomabeast I’ve ordered a lot of items from a lot of companies in this industry for the Tacoma’s ive owned and the 4runners and have had absolutely zero problems with tacomabeast.

I absolutely hate chrome anything like a lot of people so aftermarket lights for me are a must. Thank you for your feedback

When they apologize for their graffiti (and a meaningful public apology at that!), and maybe do a trail cleanup or something they can regain some credibility as a vendor. Until then...
