It looks good! A lot easier than trying to route the wire anywhere else. Especially the original mic position. Let me know how it works when you call someone

Don't want to spend more money on the masetro. There's a thread on splicing the stock camera in but
I'll give the alpine cam a try first. My thought is if I don't like it I'll do the stock cam splice in and sell the alpine cam on ebay.

Yes and i added some. The Music and direction menu's didnt exist in the dash display before i added the radio. The direction menu doesnt work with any aftermarket radio from what i can tell.

Maestro allows you to customize the functions

Really impressed by your microphone mod. Might do the same for mine.

As far as your original question, I see you went with a Kenwood -- I did, too. One of the big drivers in that decision for me was that Alpine apparently doesn't believe in using the car's dimming circuit. As far as I can tell, all Alpine models just use a photocell to dim the display based on ambient light. No, thanks. I like being in control of the dimming with the headlight switch.

Thanks. The mic mod is pretty easy. If you have any questions let me know

That would have surprised me for sure and irritated me. I keep all my dash lights on the lowest setting and the Kenwood the same. I don't like alot of cockpit lights.
