    Gentlemen,

I am going to purchase a new pioneer headunit (double din) for my 2007 Taco TRD Sport and have looked at different dash kit options. I definitely want something color matched and I would love to get something that is even textured the same as what is in it. The only thing that comes both color matched and textured is the:

    Metra 99-8214TG

The Scosche TA2053B looks like a better kit (as far as not looking cheap) but I'd rather hear from any of you guys who have already done this.

    What do ya'll think?

    Thanks Guys!

I have the metra installed ( see my threads for pics of it in the dash )
I haven't seen the other kit yet. I also ordered one from taco tunes which I don't have yet. If I love the ********* rendition then i'll rip out the metra.

The metra does the job for $20.. I bought it because if I hate it, $20 is no biggy and honestly the re-install wouldn't be tough either.

You could just order 'em both and return the one you like better.

What I hear is popular as an alternative is to to get the dash kit in black... Seems to be "somewhat" popular.

+1. I even lined the interior of the storage cubbie with black self-stick felt.

On other boards I have read some complaints with the Metra kit. Quality issues if I remember correctly.

I've not had any squeaking problems with my Scosche, but it's a single DIN.

I think they are both a pain in the ass, but that's Toyota's fault for designing the dash this way.
