Got her installed today. Spent COUNTLESS hours playing in stores with different HUs, reading reviews, etc. and decided on this one for my needs. I love it! My only complaint so far is with the steering wheel adapter (which really has nothing to do with the HU)...its a little slower to the touch than the factory HU was. Just takes some adjusting.

And yes I agree with the argument that you SHOULD REPLACE YOUR STEREO. I found it to be a DRASTIC improvement over stock, and thats with just a budget Alpine unit. Ive got a sub in the process, some baffles on the way from Marv at some point (Awesome guy btw as many of you know) and some new Infinity speakers for the fronts.

SICK witt it. Man I can't wait until I get enough to upgrade my system, stock is really starting to irritate me.

    secret stuff.
Sweet, I just recently decided to use my old and trusty CDA-7893, killer single din head unit with lots of bells and whistles. I scored a Scosche Tacoma sub- replacing the sub and using a real sub, just wanted the box. I decided just to let the head unit currently run the door speakers since it's a V-drive head unit, and roll with the sub with amp for a while. I need to get a good 4 channel amp to complete. Is that a Scosche or Metra dash kit? Hopefully I can get a steering wheel kit to work in conjunction with mine as well.

Scosche. Ive got the Metra on the shelf in case I decide to use it, but I thought the texture and color of the Metra was too strange for me. I like the flat look of the scosche. If it starts to rattle etc I will go though.

I installed my 105 yesterday, be glad you didnt use the metra from crutchfield. I got the black and the fitment is horrid. I called them yesterday and they are sending me out the grey one, the guy at crutchfield said the grey was a different material and that it may fit better.

One or two things modded... Check out the build
Looks very nice man. One question though. On a scale of 1 to 10 how difficult is the replacement? Tried to just look around on mine to see how that front plate pops off and cant seem to figure it out. your pics have definately helped me to decide i new an aftermarket HU in my truck as well. If you could give me some pointers of things you might have run in to during install I would greatly appreciate it. Once again looks great man very clean!

Looks great! I have been interested in a new HU myself and all your research and reviewing has inspired me to do the same with my stock cd player. Thanks for the pics now to see what my budget is......................

Sorry it took me so long to respond! I actually didnt do the install...I had someone else do it. There are certain things I enjoy doing, and certain things Id rather avoid and have professionally done so that I KNOW they are done professionally and properly.

Im a wimp when it comes to custom electronics. :)
