Get an attorney. Not sure what state you’re in. Insurance always try to pay the least amount possible.

    Air bags deployed = Totaled.
Not sure what to tell you about finding a truck that's cheaper besides finding something used

Make sure to ask for the depreciation amount to be paid in the highly unlikely event that it isn't totaled. Glad to hear you're alright.

Get to the hospital. You can have a lot of neuromuscular trauma and not feel it for a day or two. Airbags going off can also bother your body (lots of rare elements and chemicals). Make sure they're thorough and everything is in writing.

Get a copy of the police report to your insurance company. If you're with USAA, their detective will get it for you.

Get a lawyer. Corporate drivers have lawyers and they're already looking for ways to make it your fault.

I live in Florida and just went through this. If Texas has a similar law, you have 15 days to make a claim of any kind of medical injury. I also got depreciation value for my vehicle. Hire a good personal injury attorney.

Glad to hear you are OK, shaken and scratched but OK. I believe you will be a total loss due to ALL airbags deploying.

It's called diminished value. That truck is totaled so diminished value will not even factor into the equation.

    Get a thorough physical.

That damage to the front of the truck......did you hit someone in front of you? I wonder what insurance does in that case, clearly this wasn't your fault but if you did hit someone in front of you I don't know how that works

Sorry for truck. Glad you walked away ok. I been there myself, got a lawyers and it helped a lot. Both financial and mental. Let them deal with all the bs, they will end up paying for the lawyer as well if it is there fault.

If you hit someone because he hit you that should fall on him as well.

Very sorry this happened to you, but glad you seem to be physically okay.

That's some scary stuff you went through and likely will be on your mind for some time.

    Looks totaled to me.

You were inside a vehicle that was damaged severely on all sides and all airbags deployed.....seems very wise to get yourself checked out physically, emotionally and ensure there are no lingering issues.

Lawyer up! Don't settle for anything less than a brand new truck and some $ for pain and suffering! The truckers insurance company will try to screw you but will normally settle up before it would go to a trial as it's cheaper for them to do so. Without a lawyer they will only give you what a comparable used truck would be.

Same thing happened when we were stopped behind a city bus and four idiots in a rental car came speeding up behind us at 40 mph. To this day I can't stand city busses.

Find a good lawyer. Where in our great state are you?

Trauma pain and suffering, probably worth a 100k. Not anything they can do to get out of a rearend collision, only thing they could say is did you have your 4 way flashers on.

I was in a collision where I was hit, I hit the car in front of me, and that car hit the car in front of it. It was a 2 lane one way with a 30mph speed limit. A couple who delivered papers, were crossing the street. Two cars in front of me had stopped and I stopped, but the big dodge with a 5th wheel was not able to. It had rained slightly and I saw the dodge skidding into me. I let off the brake. That transferred his energy to the cars in front of me. The dodge had to pay all repairs.

I thought I was completely fine when I got hit. The next morning I couldn’t move my right arm. Ended up tearing a rotator cuff and required surgery. So don’t play around

Ironically, that's where my wife's Prius met its doom.

Definitely lawyer, and we will be monitoring this thread for the results.

    And hopefully NEW truck!
