I bought my truck back in January. It's a 2011 Pre-Runner. See below.

I recently saw a post on Reddit that mentioned that the third gens have a problem with the AC compressor drain line draining right onto the frame. I want to know if I need to worry about that with my 2nd gen.

And secondly, I've recently run into an issue where my rear passenger window switch isn't bringing the window back up. Window functions when when rolled down from that door and when rolled up or down from my driver controls. So I'm suspecting the window switch on that back door is going out. I do work at a Pepboys, so it is a part I can acquire. It's just a matter of getting the switch out of the door.

Do I need to take the door panel off to get that switch out or does it just pop out on its own? I tried to pop it out but couldn't get it to budge and neither my Haynes manual nor my stores service site the shop uses were any help on telling me how to get it out. Any info would be awesome.

Anyway, I'm in love with this truck. I had wanted one since 2008 back when I worked as a lot porter at a Toyota dealership. All I knew for over a decade was that I wanted a Tacoma and it had to be 4 door. Well I got my wish.

    Thanks guys!!

    Welcome to TW.

Yes you do have to worry about the A/C drain line, unless the PO took care of it. To fix the easiest way is to get a section of 5/8" id heater hose and a hose clamp. Slide the hose over the drain line and clamp it on.

As for the window switch I believe you do have to pull the door panel off.

swap the switch from the other rear door to confirm.
