i bought my 2014 Tacoma prerunner a year ago and I'm looking to put some work into it. It is a 2wd so I'm looking at putting a leveling kit on it along with bigger tires. I also want to do some work boosting my horsepower up. Any help would be much appreciated!!!

Do you have any specific questions or are you just looking for general knowledge?

How do you use the vehicle?

Why does it need to be 'level'?

Why does it need bigger tires?

More notable HP is not happening via normal magazine ad methods.

Welcome to TW, where honest Q & A is awkwardly painful sometimes!

General knowledge would be great yeah.
I use my truck as a daily. and use it to move equipment for work so I use the bed of the truck a lot. when I stand in the bed though I notice it sinks a couple inches and I only weigh 215 so id like to be able to haul more weight.
The level and bigger tires are for more clearance when I'm driving with a load in the bed.
I think I'll stick with the truck I have thanks Blockhead.

How much are you looking to spend? If you want an increased carrying capacity, then you're either looking at a new leaf pack, or some firestone airbags for the rear to help with the weight. Those are a cheaper option, but don't fare too well if you plan on off-roading.

I'm looking to spend nothing more than 300-400 I haven't done any research in to leaf packs or airbags but if I had to choose id go with a new leaf pack just in case I decide to go off-roading

I also saw something on here about converting your 2wd to a 4wd. is it worth it to do that or trade in for a 4x4?

So you could get the airbags for $300, and that does wonders for the sag. They're adjustable, so when you don't have a load in the rear, you won't have crazy rake.

For $425, you can get a new leafpack (OME Dakars) which are great, but that'll lift your rear like 3", and you'd have to get new shocks too for another $200. Plus it'd look a bit ridiculous having your ass up that high and no lift in the front.

As far as the conversion to 4x4, forget it. It was much simpler on the first gens, but on the 2nd gens it's very cost prohibitive to do it. If you're seriously considering a 4x4, don't waste your money on the prerunner. Get the 4x4 and save up money and do a proper lift with new leaf packs, which will satisfy all your goals.

Alright thanks so much for the info. Probably gonna start looking at 4x4s. Originally I didn't want to spend the extra money when I bought my truck but I regret not doing it now.
