I have a 2017 TRD Off Road. I have a simple question. I guess I can get more ground clearance by getting a leveling kit, and it might improve the look. As far as suspension lifts go, when people lift their trucks, do most people level them as well? And if you wanted to both lift and level, would you need a lift kit and a leveling kit or will some suspension lift kits also level the truck? I'm not looking to do this real soon. I'm just curious. Thanks.

    Hey, welcome to TW!

By leveling kit I assume you mean a small spacer lift?

You can also level the truck with a suspension lift. When I finally get a suspension lift I am going to try to keep the rake though.
If you choose to "lift and level" you do not need a lift kit and a leveling kit.

You can adjust where the spring sits on your aftermarket shocks/coilovers to determine how high the front sits.
The height of your rear end will be determined based on if you install an entirely new spring pack, or just a 1-1.5" add-a-leaf in which you would be adding adding leaves to your factory leaf pack. Some folks will just throw a block in the back. So to answer your question, a suspension lift can level your truck if you want it to.

Some people do end up adding a small spacer to their suspension lift to address issues like the front end sagging after adding new amour up front.

Most folks here do not recommend using a spacer lift if you off road frequently.

Some. Relative to approach/departure angles and other body related clearances. However, you are still limited at the axle line, as that is not affected. Only larger diameter tires lift the axle line, by the increase in radius of the tire. Of course this also lifts the body.

    Yes.

When you are, call Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road with how you actually use the truck, your goals and a budget. Install what she ships you.

Thanks! This is very helpful. I know you can spend a ton of money. I just bought the 17" Sema rims and now saving up for the tires which will be even more expensive. Next will be rock sliders. I want to take it off road. Then I'll think about the suspension, whether or not to keep the rake, etc.

Welcome to TW! I think the main difference between lifting and levelling your truck is levelling is really just lifting the front a little bit to match the rear so the truck has zero rake.
