    Hey guys!
I'm pretty new to this website and I've never done a group buy before but it seems simple enough! I'm very interested in this if I can figure out what I need!
Would anyone have any suggestions on FXR vs. the Morimoto mini. I'd rather not hassle with the FXR install. But, if the mini's are so small it will look akward. I'd rather deal with the FXR.
    Thanks

I would really recommend going with 5five bulbs if you are going with 50w ballasts...

Considering that you're relatively new I am going to assume you have not done a retro yet. If I were you save your self the headache and hassle that come with the FX-R projector. They are more involved and not a direct install like the Morimoto Stage III (aka Mini) set. The name "mini" is misleading. You get a nice size projector that will fit through the bowl. Very straight forward install.

I recommend the Morimoto Stage III with the Apollo Shrouds (make sure you get the shroud rings for a snug fit - you will still need to glue them to make sure they don't fall off.)

I have pics if you guys want some. :D

I have 3 different shrouds at home.

    1. Apollo - perfect fit for the Morimoto projectors. Can attach Halo ring on the front of the projector. These shrouds are to short for the FX-R projector and do not completely cover the projector from the sides. You don't want that.

    2. Gatling Gun - will fit and cover the Morimoto projectors but will need to be aligned, maybe even trimmed and will need Silicone or epoxy to glue them on - I do not recommend these unless you are adding the Halo rings behind the shroud and want a glowing effect. I wouldn't waste my time with these shrouds. These also fit the FX-R projectors a little better than the Morimoto's but do not completely cover the shroud. The bottom corners will be visable, and you don't want that.

    3. Orbit Shrouds (aka Moneyshot for the FX-R projectors) - another member told me about these and I would have never guessed it but yes these are the perfect shroud for the FX-R projector. They are big enough to cover the entire FX-R projector and are long enough to cover the sides. If you look on the TRS website and look up the Orbit Shroud you will see that the projector that is on the shroud (or the shroud on the projector) is an FX-R projector.

    So to recap:

    Apollo Shroud = Morimoto projector
    Orbit Shroud = FX-R projector

Gatling Gun Shroud plus Modification = not so perfect fit for Morimoto/FX-R.

I can post up pics later. :D

Good call. I changed my pic. Is there a big difference between the 35w and 50w setup?

    FORDS NOT WANTED!!! :p

    Nah, just kidding.

Here is what I would order. Not sure if I want to go with the Phillips bulbs or not. I kinda do, but don't really know if light output will be better.

I want in! I want to convert my headlights to FX-R 50Ws with Halos and white LED stripes.

If they are aimed appropriately, I should be able to rock 50W on the street, right?
