FYI Hilux will still get the 4.0 v6 as a option atleast in Australia. Reports say it has been bumped up to 278hp along with a 6 speed auto/manual transmission.

^So basically the Tundra V6 powertrain before it was discontinued due to poor sales.

To be honest this is not confirmed yet, it could still be the older version but i know for a fact they bumped the hp on the 4.0 a little more from around 270/271hp to 278hp ( yes very minor ) but Toyota considers it an update. I know for 2015 official figures for the V6 on the Prado/LC200 was 271hp but now for 2016 the Prado will be 278hp, very minor.

^Most likely scenario therefore is the dual-VVTi version of the 1GR.
