Gonna pop a question in this thread since it’s already Hyundai focused.

Anyone aware of any Hyundai communities sort of like this one? I know Hyundai owners are probably overall less passionate about their vehicles but every time I try to find information on upgrades like say foglights for the GF’s 19 Tucson it’s like hitting a brick wall

I had two Santa Fe and I put 300k on each of them with no repairs. So call it a woman's truck if you want but I think they area quality manufacturer

Hyundai has definitely come a long way since the days of the Pony. Although we're a Toyota family (literally everyone), if I were in the market for a new vehicle, and we were downsizing to just one, this ticks a lot of boxes. It probably won't exceed at anything, but seems to allow you to do a little bit of everything. And doesn't look like every other SUV out there.

    Cheers.

    Man did these suck.

Not into it - but I AM into a trend of smaller trucks. Between this and the new Ford (maverick?) I think we are going in the right direction. I love my taco but they’ve really ballooned over the years.

4ft bed, 5k towing capacity, base model will have around 200hp with possibility of a turbocharged option at closer to 300hp, unibody, independent rear suspension, and awd all according to an article I read. I honestly don't see it doing well in the U.S. but who knows.

I think it will appeal to a niche market who may only need (or want) a truck for occasional runs to Home Depot or the antique store. Which is sort of the niche the RL fills right now quite well for some. I honestly think there is a market for 'SAVs' (or whatever the new term is for them). But then again, maybe I was early to this party; I used to own a Ranchero which was sort of the Grandfather of 'Cruck' fad. I liked to describe mine as a Falcon with a really big trunk!

It was fun for a while but I was happy to see it go. As a car it wasn't very comfortable. As a truck it couldn't haul much and my MTB has a higher tow rating! When my GF is ready to get rid of her SUV we may be in the market for a RL, I guess now we're add this Hyundai to the list as well.

Hyundai is persistent and tends to improve their vehicles quickly. If they make it bigger with a 5-foot bed I think they will take some of the Ridgeline crowd.

I think the Maverick will have a slightly larger bed, should be good competition between them as nothing else is in that category.

If I didn't need a body on frame vehicle with a low range transfer case or if they made something that fit my needs in this size I'd be all about it. For people who don't leave the pavement or just go camping it looks like a great option.

I know taxes and the structure of fuel economy standards discourage smaller "real" trucks and SUVs, but I'd really love to see Toyota's attempt at one.

After looking at that several times it kinda gives off a Blazer vibe in the front.

As I get older, I learned to keep an open mind on everything in life. Hyundai and KIA always had a bad rep through my childhood but I really think they've come a long way. Alex on Autos gives a good intro to it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TtVBWmJ1T94

So midsized trucks worth considering are still the
    Tacoma
Frontier (new one doesn’t look too shabby)
    Colorado/Canyon
    Ranger
    Maverick? (Yet to be determined)

Honda and Hyundai are really trying to capitalize on a very small market segment. I see a lot of Subaru owners buying the Santa Cruz

The Maverick isn’t a midsize truck. Ford is putting it beneath midsize in the compact category
