New ICONs and Dakars. Very happy, but also squeaky...?

I recently refreshed my entire setup with ICON remote reservoir front and rear shocks and the Dakar rear leaf pack. I also added new upper control arms from ICON.

I love the setup so far but my taco squeaks like a farm truck now. I notice the squeaks whenever the suspension gets loaded or unloaded. It also squeaks when I turn the steering wheel even if I'm stationary. All of the bushings were greased so I don't think that's it.

What types of things should I look into greasing? What's likely the culprit?

It's your leaf springs I'd bet. I also went with a full icon stage 4 kit with a dakar pack. I put zip ties in between the individual leafs and it really limited the squeak. However, after a good weekend off-roading the dirt makes them squeak until they are washed off.

Here's a thread that has a lot more info: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/squeaky-dakars-any-advice-from-others-with-the-dakars.156353/

Thanks for the response. I believe a good amount of it is the Dakar but even when I move the steering wheel I get squeaks from up front. Thus, I believe there's some originating from up there too.

Tubular uniball UCAs. I was told not to grease them (the uniballs) and only to grease the bushings. Was that proper?

I only greased the bushings. Make sure to regrease them about once a month.

I use triflow dry lube from the drip bottle on my uniballs from day one and they still are pretty brand new. I also never had my uniballs squeak.

somewhat, you can use a dry non oil based teflon lubricant like triflo or similar to help refresh the teflon liner in the uniball which will quiet it down a ton. Never under any circumstances use anything oil based, it quiet it down for a minute but do detrimental damage to the liner and attract more dirt which will cause the uniball to wear out faster.

Excellent information regarding the triflow lube. I think I have some of that in the garage for my bike. I assume it's the same stuff. I'll check when I get back.

I'm not sure if the aerosol can is the same as the Triflow Drylube in the drip bottle.

This is the only one I have used on my uniballs: Shake the bottle, it has some wax type stuff that settles to the bottom.

Wanted to give some closure and also say thanks to you guys. I ordered the TriFlow dry lubricant and applied it to the upper ball joints. Perfectly quiet now. I'm in heaven. Thanks again for the help!

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
