Somewhat bad timing... my first Tacoma ever is this 2004 Prerunner, got it just before the worst winter in 40 years here in the Columbia gorge. With 400 pounds and studded tires she does ok with black ice and a few inches of snow, but not so good in deep powder and steep grades. Got stuck once and a second time had to slide her gently into a snowbank on a steep grade to stop. The locking differential did pull me out of a few rutted parking situations.

The good news most 4x4 guys like the chance to pull a Prerunner out of a snowbank. Now I pack a tow cable and a bottle of Jack Daniels.

Aside from that I love this rig! Got it lightly used, kind of a "country club" truck. With the lumber rack and shell she is a great carpenter truck, and a decent camping rig as well. My plan is to keep things minimal and light in the bed, but add some good lighting and a 110V power source to charge cordless batteries.
