I received the new shaft but was wondering what the yellow markings represent across the length of the shaft? I'm sure they are for positioning the new shaft upon installation but how do I use these markings? Thanks for the help.

I don't know about the yellow marks, but make sure you tie off the steering wheel so that it doesn't get spun when the shaft is out or the spiral cable will get trashed.

I would just take a picture of the old one installed and install the new one in the same orientation.

Thanks. My plan is to tie off the steering wheel but just wanted to know if there was any other reasoning for the markings. Is there any write-up in the service manual pertaining to these markups that I should be aware of? Just wanted to cover all my bases before starting. Thanks
