I can. I was a dongle user and for the software for free... At least last time I checked I was able to flash vft files.... Maybe I'm missing something...

If you did mention you had vftune I missed it! Then yeah, buy a tune from paparee and get a better driving truck ASAP.

Sorry, I didn’t know you had the vft flasher (my bad). In that case why not go ahead and get the KDMax into your truck. Minimum cost for maximum benefit. Win, win.

How does this one compare to the kruiser 4.0?

My experience with both tunes is that Kruiser is an excellent tune all around but the KDMax is noticeably a smoother shifting tune and has noticeably more 'power' on highway hills. It is less apt to shift into 4th. My mpg was slightly better with Kruiser, but my mpg with KDMax is still better than anything stock or OVTuned.
If someone told me I could only run Kruiser 4.0 I would be perfectly fine with it, but I definitely prefer the KDMax.
They both have throttle or 'tip in' parameters that are easily modified to suit the driver.

Also in UT w/ a manual and interested in this! Really happy with the truck (on stock tires) but the bogginess in first gear is tedious sometimes.

Removing the ECU and sending it in to get tuned is very common. This is what tuners have been doing for years with other makes and models. Chevy, BMW, etc. etc. The last company I had tune my Chevy Van had it set up so that once I paid online I printed an Over Night Fed-X label, boxed up my ecu, sent it and got it back a day later. This was a company out of Florida called Black Bear Tuning. (I live in Oregon) They actually also offered a service where you connected a scanner that would log while you drive than you send back the logging scanner with your ecu and they would custom tune it for your driving style and parameters. I have also gone the route of buying used ecu's (that match my original) and sent them in for tune. If you go this route, Be sure to pack well with a lot of bubble wrap, get tracking, and the appropriate insurance coverage!

Does the newest release have anything for gear swaps? Looking to try something different other than my Tacoma Tune packs with VF.

PM me. I’m in SLC and may be able to help you out. Do you have the software and cable or just looking to get tuned?

Awesome, I’ll reach out a little prior to see if you’ll still be down this way.

So I understand the concepts but I am curious, any ramifications to the emissions control test Nazi's with the tunes? Also, if you have someone load the tune, how do you back it out if needed? Mine is pretty much stock at the moment but I would like a little more responsiveness especially while towing my travel trailer. Thanks

Guys if y’all are on the fence about either of these go ahead and pull the trigger, I’ve been using kruser 4.0 all morning and it’s just perfect. Stoplight to stoplight - perfect, really nice acceleration and shift points (especially if you are running larger than stock tires). On the highway I found myself having to slow down cause the truck just seemed to really want to stretch it’s legs, which is really nice when you have 7,250 rpm to play with lol.

I highly recommend this tune to anyone interested!
