I'll never understand why people put earphones in while driving... I see it pretty often..

I think you may have missed it. The OP thinks Mark Zuckerberg's wife is a Chinese spy... he has provided no link to his story on the new proposed law... so that's all it is a story.

What if I want to change a song on my phone. what would be the difference between that and messing with the radio

Personally, for me it's easier to fiddle with the radio and not have to look at it than with my phone/ipod/etc

Speakers are blown in car or someone stole their radio. If I don't have a deck and speakers, I'm wearing my head phones. I just don't blast them.

Many of those are probably hands-free devices for their phones. Legally here you cant have earphones in both ears, but one is allowed for hands-free phone use.

Agreed, but same old debate about cell phones and driving though, some people dont get it. Why cant people just drive when they are driving?

Side note: has any one ever looked at someone not paying attention while driving and thought to yourself "I am paying more attention to your vehicle than you are and I am not even in your vehicle". Its sad how bad some people are at driving and/or paying attention

I think phone calls only would be a good policy. It's hard to regulate/enforce something like that no matter what the policy, though.

You should learn how to count because it says 4,054, not 4,500. How many threads have you created out of your 148 posts? 32? How many have I created? Get back to me on that one and tell me who has more useless CREATED threads, which is what we were talking about

Only if it is a hands free device or the call goes through the cars stereo.

I don't accept calls when I'm driving unless its urgent and I always use my Bluetooth on my cd player to take calls. My wife will text at stop lights and that really pisses me off as well. It's a phone and it isn't that damn important.

I never claimed that all of my posts were substantial... Take into account that my posts aren't about tin-foil hat ideals, religion, politics, challenging authority, etc... A condition which over half of your posts satisfy. No benefit in getting all uppity at me. I'm just calling you out

I have no intention whatsoever of trying to get you banned. If I didn't have this garbage to read all the time though I may sleep just a bit better.

they have those laws here in New Brunswick,Canada.the fine is in the hundreds.an you don't see a lot of people texting or on cell phones,so it can be enforced.

In Nova Scotia, we also have no text/cell use laws. But the OP is suggesting that if you called your friend, who was driving, while you were sitting in your living room, you too would be in violation of some newly proposed State law... a story which he hasn't proved isn't just in his mind. It all sounds like a fishing expedition to me.

    As it should be here.

As someone who spends half his time on two wheels it would reduce my stress level just slightly, not too much since most drivers are oblivious to motorcycles as it is, but any improvement is worth it. My non-scientific observations while riding places women in the 16-40 year old age range as the worst offenders. It's pretty unnerving to look in a car and see someone completely oblivious to their task at hand. If they were to run off the road and explode in a fire ball I'd have zero sympathy, as long as they took no innocents with them.
