Anyone have the black housing with smoked lens version? If so a pic would be appreciated. How's the light output with smoked lens

 

I've been looking into getting these for a bit but I think the wife is getting mad since I just ordered stuff from Off-Grid to do a battery install with bed plug-ins this weekend.
she says, "I thought we were done with the Taco?"
I said, "Well I still need the roof rack, maybe on-board air, and ..." and then I stopped before she blew up.
Plus her truck is a P.O.S. that I won't want to spend any $ on.

 

Picked up a set on eBay, debated between there and Amazon, cause the free shipping on prime. But eBay was cheaper and has 30 day return shipping for the particular order. I'll post pictures when I install. I got the smoked black. I have the magnetic gray 2015. After my retrofit install, hoping they mesh in nicely. Time will tell...

Trying to upload some images of the new tail lights. I'm very happy with them. I'd give them 8 or 8.5 out of 10 the white is a little pink. Amazon also has a set curious if a different manufacturer has a darker looking red light.

Plus price was only $135 shipped!

 

Would anyone happen to have the smoke lens with the chrome insides on a MGM?

 

Do the leds in the middle light up with the tail lights and brake lights or just the brake lights?

 

The LEDs in the middle light up only as brakes and signals. The outer 'c' shaped ring lights when your lights are on. Only thing, they aren't super red until its dusk. They show pinkish (due to the white plastic i assume) id prefer to have them coated in a transparent red if i could, but i don't have mine on until night anyway. Just a heads up though. Love them overall!

 

How do these compare to factory 2013-2015 tail lights? I'm mostly interested in how bright they are on the brake lights and reverse lights? I appreciate any input.

Also I'm new so any led bulb recommendations for a brighter reverse light would be appreciated. Thanks!
