I just had a lift installed on my 2018 Tacoma. I am having an issue with the tires rubbing. I am exploring two options: cut the fender and part of the cab mount or extend my coilovers. I currently have King 2.5 coilovers, Total Chaos upper control arms and Method wheels with 285/70/17 K02 tires.

The distance between the threads is about 1/2 inch and I am curious if I can extend them to make room for the tire and not sacrifice ride quality.

I had rub on my back fender...the wheels needed to be moved forward on mine as they looked to far back. Caster I believe is what it was.

Lift won’t help, you need to trim the plastics and the cab mount

I had a slight rub and fixed it through alignment adjustments.

Looks like you got the wrong tires. 235/85r16's work great (~32"). No trimming required. Truck handles that size with no issue.
