    Hello everyone,

I'm excited to have found this forum—my name is Van, and I’ve been searching for a community like this where I can learn, share, and hopefully get some guidance. I’m thrilled to say I finally got my dream truck: a 2007 Tacoma, equipped beyond anything I ever imagined. It has a brand-new frame replaced by Toyota, and the body is spotless—something that really matters to me.

That said, it needs a new engine. It currently has a rod knock, and I’ve been told it won’t last much longer. I’m looking for a 1GR-FE engine for a manual transmission with low miles, and ideally, a reliable mechanic who could help with the swap for a reasonable price.

My old 2001 Tacoma—rock solid and dependable—is still sitting in my backyard. The engine purrs like a dream, but the frame is unfortunately rotted. So, I’m hoping to bring this new one to life with some help from the community.

Thanks in advance, and I appreciate any pointers or advice you can share!

    Best,
    Van
