Finally got the shift kit installed from Marlin Crawlers. Hot damn what a difference that made in the shifting! Whatever used to be in there was completely disentigrated. Also I don't think Toyota ever wanted anyone to service the top of the manual trans without ripping the carpet out. I had to take a pair of snipsnto the corners of the opening and damage the original carpet to get the boot plate and boot out.

I am VERY suspect of that battery positive lead. It sure looks like two pieces spliced together.

There's a bolt and lock but that connects them all together

I ripped out the interior to add some dynamat. Tired of the inside sounding like a tin can. The factory insulation is a joke

Also mailed in my front seat belts to be rebuilt. New seat belts are about $300 a piece which is also a joke. Getting both seat belts repaired for $100

There were total blockages in the intake after about 350,000 miles so i cleaned the heck out of the intake parts. Looks like toyota put some blanks on the intake where the injectors should have gone instead of direct injection. bastards. new injector cups, new toyota manifold studs, rebuilt toyota injectors, new intake gaskets, new oil pan gasket, cold air intake, header, brakes, brake hoses, calipers... its all starting to run together. debating on just slapping together mustang exhaust without a cat which seems to be the cheapest solution instead of going to a exhaust shop or getting one of these tacoma kits. Finding parts has been a pita. Every time I go to a store to try and find a part for this truck I am reminded how screwed we are - The United States - as a country. Bless you Canadians you all appear to be the only folks still carrying OEM bushings for my truck.

Exactly. Newer vehicles are designed to work with emissions equipment. Also, the ECU is wired and programmed for it , too. It's not like 1970's car.

running like a champ. the idle is so much better now. not stopping like a champ. Just fine tuning the brakes and the ebrake adjustment and she should be good to go. debating on purchasing the Borla bolt on exhaust kit. If one of you guys wants the Autospecialty Powerstop B505 rear brake shoe kit I have one brand new in the box I'll sell you. Say $30.00 with shipping as long as you're in the United States.

Now all I need is a rebuilt transmission and complete front end rebuild with ball joints and control arm bushings and a fan shroud or electric fan and a turbo charger, maybe even a 3b diesel engine... its basically been limping along but all this work ought to add a little more life into her till I can get around to the other stuff.
