    Howdy Y'all,

So I just recently purchased my new 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro in Cement back in early April and have already racked up 4k miles on it. It is a fun ride, a little underpowered as I would like it to be, but I'll keep it and hope that I can keep this one going as long as I had my 2001 Tacoma (which I sold in 2015 at 250k miles for $6k and had seen some great trail riding and work back when I was doing a lot of fieldwork). I think the problem with the underpower feeling for me is because I went from a 2013 VW JSW TDI (which was bought back by VW and the reason I switched back to the Tacoma) to a truck, so it will probably take some time getting used to the switch.

Anyways, on to the problem at hand. I was traveling long-distance back home and received a beautiful chip on my windshield about a nickel in size with the cracks making it about a quarter in size back on April 27th. On May 2nd, Safelite replaced the windshield with a $100 deductible. Fast forward to these last three weeks. I had water that was collecting on the passengers-side floor pan after several heavy rains down here in the southeast. The first time, I thought I must have brain-farted and left the window open. So I wet-dry vacced up the water as much as possible and thought nothing about it. However, it continued to happen multiple times, to which I called my insurance company and they called the claims department and then routed me to Safelite for an appointment.

I get to Safelite and the Store Manager there tells me that the 2016-2017 Tacomas have a problem where if the windshield is not replaced correctly and the seals are not correctly fitted to the windshield that water will leak right through and all over onto the passengers floor pan. He said he checked the Safelite database and found that this has been a problem for these models. I got the guy to take pictures for me so I can show you all later. My problem however is , I don't know where else the water went (b/w the firewall, sucked up by other pieces and material, across wires, under the carpet pad etc.) and what potential damage could have be done to the vehicle because of it. The Store Manager has been trying to help relieve the situation and he has put an industrial dehumidifier in the vehicle and we have let it run since yesterday afternoon until later on this afternoon when I pick up the vehicle. With the vehicle being only 2 months old, what do you all think should or can be done? I'm really concerned about the potential issues the vehicle could face down the road because of the water (some of it was there for a while, because I had to take the vehicle to the airport for a flight out of town during Memorial Day weekend and I know it collected more water since it was not in a covered deck).

Any serious thoughts, help, comments, advice, etc. would be greatly appreciated and if I keep this vehicle in the long-term then I'll post more pics with some updates, the only four additional items I really want to add are an ARB brush guard with winch to the front, a rear bumper with swing out tire carrier, dual battery system, and the Tacoma Habitat truck camper. I really want to head out and do some overlanding with this thing out west.

    THANKS in advance!
