New member buying new truck, has questions

Greetings all---I'm in the process of getting a new (I can still get a 2016 or I may get a 2017) truck. I currently drive a 2009 Tacoma TRD Sport, access cab.

Here's my questions---l) Can anyone tell me if the running boards on my current truck will fit on a 2016 OR 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport, access cab. I realize the Tacoma has been restyled for 2017 but does that mean my running boards won't fit? 2) I have the same question regarding the mudguards. The 2017 I am looking at has the predator tube step and I'm not sure how functional they are. I also wonder about how the tube steps would protect the lower body of the truck from rock chips. I assume they are somewhat functional since I understand the 2017 Tacomas are higher off the ground than the truck I have currently.

I may have more questions before the night is over (I'm making my decision tomorrow). Thanks for your input and your patience.
