Hey guys just got myself my first Tacoma back in January. It’s a 2008 Tacoma TRD sport access cab v6 4wd 6 SPEED MANUAL! Silver with tow package. Just had the factory frame recall completed a year ago and got a brand new frame, lower a arms and ball joint, rear TSB leaf packs, brand new brake and fuel lines front to back, and all the other odds and ends. Brand new clutch installed last July. (Service records for all the work) Came with bilstein 5100 kit installed and 285/70/17 wrangler duratracs (with full size spare so 5 tires). So far I love the truck. Body is in good shape besides a ding or two and some scratches. Interior was pretty dirty but nothing I couldnt clean up some elbow grease and some shampoo. Had to work out a few bugs and corners that were cut by previous owner/s could have been purely lack of knowledge as well who knows. I believe the original owner (that bought it New I’m the third owner) was an avid member to these forums as it had the anytime fog mod already, the BHLM, bilstein kit, and many others. And I know the original owner I bought it from didn’t do any of that he was dumber then a bag a bricks. He didn’t know one of the headlights bulbs was in wrong and just adjusted the headlights down a mile because low beam was actually shining in the high beam reflector on only one of the headlights lmao. Changed tranny and t case fluid After days of searching on the forum it’s now mt-90 lolol. Fresh diff fluid too. Gl5 synthetic in front and Dino with modifier in rear. He had an stp filter on it ugh. Now mobil 1 full synthetic and Toyota filter. Put fresh denso plugs in it. Two cyclinders were loose smh. Removed the secondary air filter when I replaced air filter. Secondary was so clogged it wasn’t even funny. Barely could blow through it with my compressor. Wired the anytime fog mod to my Parker circuit personal preference to have all lights on one main switch. He had it tapped into efi fuse and lights turned on real quick every couple hours. (Found that one out on these forums) Fixed an exhaust leak caused by two bolts that rusted to no existence. Did the DRL mod. Split the headlights open to reseal and clean water out of them. Buffed them nice and clear while I was there and buffed the plastic cover over the gauges as well. It was super scratched up. Nice and clear now. And replaced both hubs with complete hubs I found on the forums. Im sure I did some other things I’m forgetting as well But it’s coming together very nicely now. It was a great truck when I bought it just even better now then when I purchased it. (Although the average person provabaly wouldn’t know the difference, I can tell/feel it. You guys know how that goes lol) Needless to say I’m a new memeber but Iv spent plenty of time reading on these forums and using the search button. And finally decided to become a member. Soon to come will be black wheels with some fresh rubber. Might do summer/winter set with stock wheels. Black mesh grill inserts. Window tint. TRD ehxuast and many more

Super busy but I love it. Absolutely love wrenching on it and doing things and seeing the progress and watching it become “mine” and how I picture it in my head.

Welcome! I recommend getting that diff/tcase/transmission oil changed too, mine was toast at 40K (auto tranny fluid was fine actually per blackstone labs)
