    2006-Taco-Sport-TRD-Quad Cab-Short Bed, 4x4 No mods to speak of.
    I posted a few days ago in another newbies thread when I joined. Figured I’d start a new thread, instead of butting in on his, sorry.

    Many years lurking finally joined the site a couple of days ago.. Always in here looking for answers to little problems. Great informative site from experienced Taco enthusiasts.

    On my 4th Toyota truck / 4-Runner.

    My current ride is a 2006 Taco, Sport SR5, TRD, quad cab, short bed, 4x4. Pretty much stock, larger tires. I bought it new and special ordered it in 2006. Mainly for the JBL stereo / amp and sub / steering wheel controls, roof rack. Items that came on Tacos later on had to be special ordered back then.

    An amazing dependable truck with 157K on the odometer. Only thing I’ve ever had to do is maintenance, tires / batteries and oil changes. Changed out the headlights a year ago due to haze.

    Sorry the late response, apparently I fell offf a cliff.;) Just wanted to say thanks for the warm welcome.

    One more thing, my Taco is 13 years old now. As I stated all I’ve ever done was oil changes, Mobil One 15, 000 mile synthetic since day one [the good stuff] batteries and tires. Spark plugs and air filters. Today I went to get a smog test for a registration renewal and it passed with flying colors. Amazing to me how these trucks perform day in and day out without issue. I bought this truck new at sea level San Diego. The truck spent 6 years there. I moved back to mile high 5,500 ft. altitude Colorado 7 years ago and never did anything for the change and it runs like a champ. Many a trip up to 12,000 ft. with little performance loss.
