New Member from Issaquah WA

Greetings everyone! Just ordered a 2017 Tacoma TRD Off Road Long Bed Black, expecting it just before Thanksgiving. Found this forum when I got home from the dealership last night. I've been looking at threads all day and last night. I had never ever thought to make cosmetic mods to any of my previous vehicles before seeing this forum, I've got tons of ideas my truck arrives.
I'm trading in my '02 Tundra for the Tacoma and before the Tundra, I was running a '79 Toyota PU 4 cyl 4x4. My wife just upgraded her '99 4Runner to a '16 4Runner this summer. The '99 has 270k and is still going strong. It's going to make a great first vehicle to a friend of the family when she turns 16.
The Tundra was guzzling a little too much gas for me. I was considering a Subaru Outback 6 cyl but did not want to give up having a truck. I started looking into Tacomas and realized the gas mileage wouldn't be much different than the Subaru. I made one of my seasonal week long camping/fly fishing trips to the Deschutes River with my wife's old 4Runner. The interior still smells of campfire and wet waders. I need something that I can sleep in if needed but still be able to separate myself and passengers from our cargo. Tacoma was the obvious choice.
Excited for my truck to arrive. I'll keep reading the forum until it does.

Hello fellow Tacoma owners! My nakme is Gary and I live in the Boston area. I am on my 3rd Toyota Tacoma and I love them!. Started out with a 2008 red crew cab 4cylinder 4spd, climbed mout washington, but it was too small in back for the kids so I traded up to my 2007 doublecab longbed and put the red cap from the 2008 tacoma on it. The color clashed a bit, but I kinda liked the red cap on black truck look. I traded in for a Rav 4, big mistake! So I recently traded back for a 2013 Tacoma, black doublecab longbed TRD sport with a bull bar on front and a tanneau cover. I added the power tailgate lock from U-trailer. It works great and keeps all my stuff secure, but I may splurge on another cap one say. I have been struggling to resolve a vibration in my drivetrain since I bought the truck. I have balanced the tires 5 times, put new tires on, balanced several more times, new brakes and rotors, replaced the carrier bearing which helped, but still having issues. I hope you share more stories about Tacoma mods and upgrades with all of you!
