New member from Ohio.. Looking for my 1st Truck will need help

Guys,
Hello from Cincinnati.. New to the Tacoma forum and back to 4wheeling after a 10 + year break. I had a 1991 4Runner with a SAS and Marlin Crawler Drop in gears that was a great but sold her and now want to step back in and want a truck.

I have lots of questions and have been surfing the site to absorb what I can so any advice would be great !! Here is a quick list of the important things I'm looking for in a truck.

1. It's got to be a Stick

2. Extra Cab

3. 4 Cyl. vs 6 Cyl. ?? Not sure which would be better

4. Want to run a Crawler Box

5. Medium Duty Wheeling so looking to run 35's

6. This will be a budget build little steps at a time

So looking at the Tacomas since Mini Trucks are getting hard to find in good shape any more but don't know what year range to look at Tacoma wise ?? My budget for the truck alone is up to 15k ish
