I've experienced the Taco wanting to accelerate a bit at idle speed when cold, but absolutely nothing like unwarranted acceleration at speed, nor when warmed up.

That doesn't sound normal to me.

I can't even get mine to accelerate when I'm standing on the pedal whipping its hind quarters with a riding crop and this guy has a magical Tacoma that accelerates all on its own?

I think you have some sort of flubber enhanced, chitty chitty bang bang, herbie the love bug, knight 1000 model there. See if you can get it to talk and you might get a movie deal while the rest of us dream of entering the fast lane, one day.

I've had that a few times too when starting/driving it for the first time of the day, but never while driving at normal/faster speeds around town, or in traffic. Welcome to The World btw...I'm sure a mechanical guy will chime in and tell ya something helpful. My amateur guess is something to do w/ your throttle cable or throttle body, but again, amateur haha

Picture of your gas pedal and floormat situation?

Do you have a throttle controller installed (Pedal Commander, Sprint Booster, Pedal Monster, etc.)?

I second this. Have you installed a second floor mat on top of the factory carpet mats (on top of the factory carpet).

Not stock floor mats? Looks like a new unit. Still under warranty? Take it to the dealer to have report it and have it checked.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. 22 model, had it six months. So used. Did you buy it from a dealer or private party?

Regardless, Id advise taking it to a dealer. This could be a serious flaw/malfuction that may be covered by warranty still. Or a hush hush Technical Service Bulletin.
