I hear you. I love my little 22RE Pickup and always have my eyes open for an 03-04 2.7 5 speed. Would love to get a reg cab (or AC) for the wife (and steal it all the time).

I was just pointing out realistically that as much as I love me a Yota 4 banger, the increase in size/weight in the second/third Gen is definitely felt more than in the first Gen. that’s all. It’ll more than do and is a phenomenal truck!

I agree. Way too much complaining about the automatic transmission in the 3rd Generation. It shifts on par with other automatic transmissions programmed for fuel efficiency.

I guess I am too utilitarian to understand the complains. Want something that drives like a performance car, just buy a performance car lol.

Serious question, what’s the purpose of that canopy?

Seems like it would be awkward getting in and out.

My high school buddy had 4spd 1990 Ferd 4.9. We did break stands in 2nd gear in his driveway. That truck was an absolute tank. Thirsty but dead reliable.

Keeps my penthouse magazine and Cheetos dry. Seriously, it’s better than my bed at home. I learned to love it with my ‘84 Nissan KC 2wd gas. Removed the rear window, installed a gasket and you hop (or slither) into the back. In the winter, the more snow that builds up on the outside the warmer it gets inside

    Haha!

No seriously, what’s the purpose. I’ve seen one in the wild and couldn’t figure it out.

Well I have decided to get the double cab with the 2.7 . I just didn't feel right not having a middle pillar supporting the roof , plus I have 2 kids and a wife so we will all fit in the double cab. I am just glad the 2.7 is offered in it.

I found my Tacoma . I was ready to buy and then the dealer said that I had to pay $4995 for " market adjustment" . I said no way. I'll pay for the Toyota window sticker but no additional "market adjustment" just because of the parts shortage. It took only 12 minutes for the salesman to come back and knock $3000 off of the "market adjustment" but I'd still have to pay $2,000. I told him no and just walked away. There is no way that I am giving $2,000 to a dealer just to buy a truck and then pay $30,000 for the truck. I am in no hurry so I will wait and drive my 20 year old Nissan. The gun market was in a similar incident last year. Guns were in high demand and none to be found. Now there are guns everywhere and shops are fully stocked. I will wait for my Tacoma. Still that crap is just crazy !

I want to say I bought a car from Value Auto Sale and the people working were very helpful, I am very satisfied with the service and their attention to detail and to their customers over there. They sold me a dependable Toyota Tacoma, I am a satisfied customer to say the least. If you need a new vehicle visit Value Auto Sale in National City.
