Hello Tacoma World Community! I am a new member living in Brooklyn, NY. I bought my Tacoma about a year ago—I traded in a 2-door wrangler for it, which was the first and only vehicle I ever bought new. I quickly realized however that the Jeep was great for parking in the city, but horrible for loading up with a bunch of camping gear. So the search for a truck began.

I knew I wanted a manual transmission TRD Off-Road, in good used condition, so I had to travel out to Pennsylvania to get it. It was all stock, and I added an ARE cap and eventually a set of more off-road inspired tires. I fell in love with the truck right away, and I put about 15,000 miles on it last year.

I finally decided to join the board here because I want to get more involved in off-roading and I wasn’t sure where else to start. I’m big into motorcycles too, and the forums have always been such a great resource for information and meetups, so this was the first place I came. So if there happen to be any members in the North East reading this who like to get lost in the woods and are open to having a noob tag along, or if anyone knows a good direction to point me in, please hit me up! I am ready to find out what this thing is capable of—and more importantly, what it’s not capable of. Thanks for your time!

Hey man welcome to TW. I just moved out of new Rochelle westchester but I still have a few friends there from my little offroading crew that would be happy to take you along on some trails. They wheel mostly in Ct and sometimes in NJ. Let me know if you want an introduction. Really nice guys.

Idk about getting lost in the woods part, lol
There's definitely something to do on Pine Barrens NJ, but unfortunately I'm not really familiar with that.
But... I definitely would like to hit either AOAA or Rausch Creek in Pennsylvania, hopefully last Sunday of November (work and family obligations often prevent me from having fun). If you're interested, maybe we could try that?

    Edit. Added links

I have been all over the pine barrens on dual sport motorcycles—it’s great! I actually went once with the Tacoma and had a blast, but there were some moments that I felt I was getting in a bit over my head with the puddles and the mud. I didn’t get stuck, but it would not have been fun if I had since I was alone.

I’d definitely be interested in checking out either of those spots in PA. Last Sunday in November tho—I’m not sure that works. That’s the 24th it looks like?

Awe shit! No, got confused a bit.... I was thinking of December 1st, not November 24.
We'll see. We can definitely stay in touch about it.

    On it

    Pennsylvania

Here @elbowparty ^^ fairly friendly regional thread (they even tolerate me for the most part).
And if you haven't come across this yet, NorthEast Forum. There are more regional threads there.

Oh, BTW be wary of the 3rd gen section... :stirthepot:
