Im retired Air Force and am living the expat life here in Northern Japan, just ordered a 2018 TRD Off Road Super White with the technology package. Paid way to much for it with export/import, taxes etc... I wont get it for a couple months waiting on everything to be completed but am excited to start emptying my wallet on mods. I plan on keeping it stockish doing mostly cosmetic upgrades as Ill be using it as a daily driver with some snowboarding and fishing mixed in. My import person in Japan got me these pictures from the dealer thats going to export it here. Edited post to add they are adding blind spot cameras to make it compliant to drive here, Im trying to get them to do the ECU stumble update and any recalls before they ship it as well, and I also plan to add a dash cam.

Snow tires on stock rims for winter here.
    LED interior/exterior lights.
    Bed mat.
    Black inlays for tailgate.
    Vent shades.
    Center console organizer.
Plan on painting TRD exhaust tip mat black.
TRD pro grille (if I can find someone to ship to APO).
17 inch TRD mat black SEMA wheels not sure what tires yet as Im not planning on lifting for now. (If I can find someone to ship to APO).

Misawa Japan. Eventually when my contract ends Ill be heading back to the US and want to buy something I can take back, I would be all over a diesel Hi-Lux if I could take it back to the US.

Is driving a Left hand drive vehicle there as much of a pain as driving a Right hand drive vehicle is in the states? Or is LHD more common there?

Pretty jealous of the snowboarding in north Japan!

I had an FJ60 in the states I took home on my last assignment I didn't think it was that bad except having to pass my ID across the vehicle to to the SPs when I was going on base lol. I haven't driven a LHD vehicle here yet as Im still waiting on export/import so not sure. Ya there are like 3 resorts pretty close Im still an amateur snowboarder but its super fun...

Nice truck. Is that from Wondries in Alhambra?? I recently purchased the same truck and color. I was searching mid through late August. At the time, Wondries didnt have any TRD OR 4x4 in SW in stock. It would be crazy if they were already working with you on that one??

A little something every chance we get.
Welcome, and let me join all in thanking you for your service. When I was a kid in Michigan, we had the first "Snufboards" from Brunswick, who was in Kalamazoo. Short, fat, water ski with metal treads, and a rope to hold on to. WOW, did we have fun. My (replacement) knees are too old for that now, but enjoy those modern ones! Never been there, but I've seen the mountains.

@ neverenoughdirt Truthfully my Japanese import dealer dealt with the dealer in the states so I think its the one in Alhambra due to googling the dealer plates. Im pretty sure he reached out to multiple dealers and ordered it cause it was shipped out of Baja in August so it was just built, I definitely overpaid as well so they may have went to the higher bidder...
